With all of the social media platforms available, you might be wondering which to use.  With Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and more, why should you invest time and energy into TikTok? Here is a list of reasons why TikTok is one of the best platforms for advertising and influencer marketing.

TikTok Has a Higher Level of Engagement Than Other Platforms

This means that there are more people interacting with the content they see by liking, commenting, or sharing videos in comparison to other social media platforms.  A higher level of engagement is a great signal that viewers form connections with creators and want to communicate with them like friends.  The trust formed between an influencer and their followers is a great thing to utilize, which can be done by partnering with the influencer.  If viewers see that their favorite influencer is advertising a product, they will be more likely to buy the product than if it were advertised by a stranger.

TikTok is wildly popular, and there is no denying that fact.  In addition to being the most downloaded app in the app store, TikTok has 800 million active users worldwide.  Part of why it has become so popular, other than its entertainment value alone, is because it is available in 155 countries.  TikTok’s widespread popularity and reach allows for influencers and brands to have a huge and diverse audience.

TikTok is For All Ages

Many people believe that TikTok is almost exclusively for young people.  However, this is really not the case.  About 25% of the app’s users are between the ages of 25 and 34, and almost 20% of the users are between 35 and 44.

Users Spend on Average Over 30 Minutes a Day on the App

The most popular length of a TikTok is 15 seconds, so by spending over 30 minutes on the app users can see hundreds of videos.  This also shows how popular and addictive the app is.

The ‘For You’ Page Allows For Content to Gain Popularity Quickly

The ‘For You’ page is a feature on TikTok that highlights both trending and new, not yet popular videos.  Each person’s ‘For You’ page is different, and the content that they see is tailor made for their interests.  This unique feature allows for creators to access an audience who would enjoy their content and helps videos grow fast.

TikTok is a great platform to invest some time and energy into.  Its unique set-up allows for content to spread and gain popularity very quickly and efficiently, and with its rise in popularity it is safe to assume that the app will be here to stay.
